Ugh. It's been a day already and it's only 9:30am.
With a layoff at my now former company, lots of us have been impacted, including me. The good news is my calendar is now free and clear.
I have no idea what comes next but if you know of any #InternalCommunications roles in #Massachusetts, I'd really appreciate the heads up 😃

I'll be honest, I didn't see this one coming but I'm not mad about it...
From Business Insider: "In the generative AI boom, vibe coding and AI expertise have become in-demand résumé skills. But tech companies are also looking to pay a premium for expertise in people who have a skill that predates AI: The art of communication."

There's some good food for thought in this article from Ragan about accessible communications. I know I'll be rethinking #InternalCommunications going forward.

This morning I read a post on Spin Sucks about Google's NotebookLM (https://spinsucks.com/communication/notebooklm-communications-planning/) and decided to spend some time playing with the tool.
In particular, I'm more than a little impressed by the ability to upload documents, images, etc. and then have it create a podcast-type audio file, along with other types of content and summaries.
I'm a hesitant AI user but this particular tool has some interesting promise and use cases.

#Plants #ommunicate #distress using their own kind of #nervoussystem. Model mustard plant uses the same signals as animals to relay distress. Although plant biologists already know that changes to one part of a plant are sensed by the others, they had no idea how that information was transmitted. Now that they have seen the #calcium wave and the role of #glutamate, researchers can better monitor and—perhaps one day even manipulate—the plant's #internalcommunications.https://www.science.org/content/article/plants-communicate-distress-using-their-own-kind-nervous-system

Transformational leaders are exceptional communicators, argues this article in HBR.
The piece outlines four communication strategies to help motivate and inspire your team:
1) Use short words to talk about hard things.
2) Choose sticky metaphors to reinforce key concepts.
3) Humanise data to create value.
4). Make mission your mantra to align teams. -
