A Forgotten Practice

A lot of successful people underestimate the power of human capital. The conversations are too transactional; apprenticeship and shadowing someone is not something that comes to the minds of urban educated population. Senior folks have stopped thinking beyond employment and partnerships.

India’s unorganized sector is far more generous in this regard where providing a platform to someone to stand on is much more comfortable than getting benefited out of them. A mechanic, a shopkeeper, a contractor – will take a kid on with no clear return in mind, just to give them an opportunity to stand. They do it more freely than people with far more to spare.

And it not just helps the society or the nation but also the leader themself either directly by the inputs and work of their followers or indirectly in various form factors.

This mindset that junior folks don’t match the caliber of already successful people is hurting the leaders too in ways they cannot predict beforehand. We need to start seeing humans as equals; even a newborn can teach you a lot about life.

Far more can be done if people come together but we have created this artificial scarcity around us. The world is abundant and wealth is infinite. Extend your hand out for others and you will reach your goals faster.

Wer hätte es gedacht, dass meine im Dezember 2023 ausgeartete geistige Umnachtung diesen Blog 2 Jahre online halten würde? Ich definitiv nicht und deshalb bin ich umso stolzer, sagen zu können, dass zwei Jahre wie im Flug vorbeigegangen sind und ich immer noch Spaß an meinem Projekt habe.

Wie beim letzten Geburtstag gibt es auch heute wieder eine kleine Statistik rund um den Blog:

• 251 Beiträge sind inzwischen online auf dem Blog. Somit haben wir in einem Jahr die Beiträge sogar etwas mehr als verdoppelt. Mal mehr und mal weniger elegant geschrieben, aber meistens so, dass man etwas Spaß beim Lesen hat.
• Es gibt inzwischen knapp 300 Kommentare auf dem Blog. Dies hat sich zum letzten Geburtstag sogar verdreifacht.
• Besucherzahlen sind ebenfalls gestiegen. Zwischen 300 und 800 Besucher kommen im Monat auf den Blog. Dabei sind viele durch die Googlesuche auf den Blog gekommen. 10 % surfen den Blog direkt an. Dabei schauen sich die Besucher 2–3 Seiten an.
• Die Anfragen und Rückmeldungen sind auch angestiegen. Mit ca. 3–5 Mails im Monat. Dabei sind viele positive Dinge durch die eher aus Spaß gestartete Diabetes-Kategorie gekommen. Für mich eine absolute Überraschung.
• Wir haben die 100 Abonnenten bei Mastodon geschafft. Danach ging eine Instanz offline und weg waren sie. Derzeit sind es 88 Abonnenten, die freiwillig dem Blog folgen und auch rege kommunizieren. Auch hier hätte ich das nie so in diesem Ausmaß erwartet.

Ansonsten gibt es hier nicht wirklich viel Neues zu erzählen.

Nerdjunk ist ein Hobbyprojekt, welches mehr Aufmerksamkeit bekommt, als ich es mir hätte vorstellen können. Besonders überrascht war ich wie oben erwähnt von den gestiegenen Rückmeldungen und Anfragen, wenn es um Diabetes geht. Das Vertrauen hier, einige privatere Dinge zu äußern und um eine Meinung zu bitten, fühlt sich schon gut an und zeigt mir hier nicht komplett auf dem Holzweg zu sein.

Ansonsten kann ich nur mehr oder weniger das wiederholen wie beim letzten Geburtstag. Nerdjunk ist ein privater Blog und denkt nicht dran, auf Teufel komm raus, jedem zu gefallen. Auch eine Paywall, die inzwischen immer beliebter wird, steht nicht zur Debatte. Werbung steht ebenfalls nicht zur Debatte. Nerdjunk ist ein Hobby, welches euch und auch mir Spaß machen soll. Deshalb freue ich mich über jeden Besuch und jeden Kommentar und jeden Abonnenten im Fediverse. Sollte mich dann noch jemand auch etwas mehr unterstützen wollen, habt ihr unter jedem Beitrag die Möglichkeit dazu per Paypal.

Habt einfach Spaß auf dieser kleinen Baustelle namens Nerdjunk.
