Our colleague Jezabel Curbelo is organizing the 4th NonLinear processes in Oceanic and Atmospheric flows at the Institut de Ciencies del Mar (Barcelona, Spain) from January 22nd to January 24th:

NLOA 2025 intends to create cross-disciplinary interaction among mathematicians, physicists, oceanographers and atmospheric scientists in a wide sense. It will focus on nonlinear dynamics of atmospheric and oceanic phenomena, and it aims to create an international forum where international researchers explore timely open problems in ocean and atmosphere sciences, and also investigate the power and impact of mathematics in these areas.

Day 3 of #SocialNetworkAnalysis Duality@50 conference is coming to a close.
After 3 days of intense discussions my brain feels very exploded - (mostly) in a good way.
Reminded how hard #interdisciplinarity is - I'm the only architecture scholar in a group of sociologists, psychologists, political scientists, mathematicians and statisticians and while it's super inspiring, I also translate in my mind all the time how everything I'm hearing might be relevant for my own domain

Back to #writing today after a couple of days off, & making much better progress than I have been. I'm reshaping my chapter on #interdisciplinarity, & I'm MUCH happier with it. Have just written 3,000 words on the #notebook project, the vlog & how the notebook spreads function in HAYDN SPACE OPERA & now I'm feeling super-guilty for not keeping up with getting the books online. Will deal with another volume or two this week. Yes, I will #PracticeAsResearch #PhDLife

Off to the Goldsmiths Music and Music and/as Process ‘Music and Interdisciplinary Practice’ study day today, where I’ll be talking about #interdisciplinarity & the composer’s #everyday in Quiet Songs. I’ll be looking at how I use practice documentation, video editing and gestures in this piece. Great speakers from the 2022 MAAP conference and I’m looking forward to meeting some Goldsmiths PhD students & hearing about their work too. #practiceasresearch #phdlife
