#Foreign and #Domestic #Emergencies : Lot's of noise wrt #SOH over last few days. Irony is none of the buffoons claiming control over the #SOH have more power than #Insurers who are simply not going to pay #Iran, the #US, #Houthis or any number of potential combatants to attack their Insured in the strait while the sh*t is flying. It doesn't matter what flag your ship is flying and it certainly doesn't matter who the President or dingbats on Fox News declared the winner on any particular day

📢 Is anybody listening? Anyone in the US?? Any POLITICIANS in the US??
"'Millions of voters believe their out-of-pocket #health #insurance costs have become unbearable and something has to change,' Anderson said."
"A memo breaking down the research says that voters 'will reward candidates willing to hold them in check.'"

The rapid growth of #AI #datacentres, driven by significant private capital investment, is presenting challenges for #insurers. Insurers are offering bespoke policies and exploring asset-backed securitisation, the mismatch between the lifespan of data centres and GPUs, along with the potential for disputes over property valuations, adds complexity to the risk landscape. https://www.cnbc.com/2026/04/06/ai-data-centers-financing-insurance-deals-gpu-debt.html?eicker.news #tech #media #news

I hope for the sake of this lads family that suspension mods to #VWPolo had been notified to insurers (its been lowered, I compared it to my own first #car which is a similar model) , and there isn't too much data on the ECU or its difficult to capture as car has sat at bottom of River Nene for a few days (although memory chips can survive this!) as #insurers are *really* going to be digging deep into reducing their liabilities for this #crash, with a dead passenger and other injuries/trauma to the survivors.
Daily Mail managed to doorstep witnesses/survivors and gleaned from them he was not habitually a bad/reckless driver and likely overcorrected steering trying to avoid #potholes - I 100% believe this, knowing what rural roads are like round here!

Forum🇸🇬 Don’t let medical progress become a loophole for #insurers
"Life #Insurance Assoc'n recently updated its #Critical #Illness Framework to incl modern “keyhole” & endovascular treatments.. a clear admission tt old, highly invasive definitions r medically obsolete. However these updates are not retrospective. Tis creates a 2-tier sys where those who've dutifully paid #premiums for decades r penalised for te v #medical progress tt makes #surgery safer"

😆 Oh, look! Yet another revelation that confirms US healthcare is the ultimate one-up game where #insurers pay triple for the same hospital snooze-fest. 🤦♂️ Investigative data journalism at its finest, bravely crunching numbers nobody will ever read, while #GitHub dreams of a world where code writes itself. 🖥️

This came up again in the news as the #Inquest from HM #Coroner has concluded
Although I only met him once I'm still gutted this happened and I didn't keep in touch with him - we'd chatted about social media marketing and getting more pictures of work in progress online - but his shop always seemed busy , I felt awkward about randomly calling him or turning up there (if I didn't have any cars to actually be repaired) as it was taking up time that wouldn't be revenue generating and everyone in #automotive round here seems rushed off their feet, but I guess this shows how quickly ruthless #capitalism can turn a dream #career in to a nightmare (there seems to be less private work for #bodyshops and #insurers make them jump through many hoops for lower rates)

"Why does dealing with an #insurance #company feel like being #scammed. If I hadn't #contacted them through the website listed on my policy I'd swear these guys were just pretending to be my #insurers. I bet they're making this as off-putting as possible to reduce the amount of #claims that people make."

Studio still out of action since last November’s flood. It’s been gutted for months, but no sign of rebuild starting. The insurance claim just gets bounced around between Companies; Insurers, assessors, builders, everyone passing the buck, and nothing moves. Some good folks are trying, but they seem powerless.
Meanwhile, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, had surgery, radiotherapy, years of meds ahead. It all feels surreal. I just want to be in my studio. It’s deeply frustrating.
If UK companies are like this, the UK is in more trouble than I thought. RSA is the insurer, they’re pulling out of the domestic market, and don’t seem to care about their reputation. I’ve contacted their CEO, Ken Norwood, twice, which led to complaints opened and closed, reopened, but no real progress. I could go to the ombudsman, but who wants that hassle? What I want is for someone to put a rocket under this whole process and get my studio sorted.

#Insurers Want #Businesses to Wake Up to Costs of #ExtremeHeat
#SwissRe, the Zurich-based #reinsurance firm, focused in-depth on extreme heat – a natural catastrophe we don’t normally associate with insurers.
“Up to half a million people globally succumb to the effects of extreme heat each year, according to recent scientific research,” the report noted, “exceeding the combined impact of floods, earthquakes and hurricanes.

#US Government to Stop Tracking Cost of #ExtremeWeather
It would be harder for #insurers and scientists to study #wildfires, storms and other “billion dollar disasters,” which are more frequent as planet warms.
