Perhaps you could explain to F-A-Y that while the words
'Some of us are Heathens, some of us are Druids
Some of us are Wiccans and some eclectic-fluid
Some will become shamans, some are Toadmen by birth
But all of us can join hands and honour Mother Earth'are true in a school assembly setting, families can be more complicated, and adults may not want to discuss their shamanic practices or go into why they haven't yet received the Toad Lifter's Benison at the dinner table.

As not only the Moonshadows but many other working traditions observe joyous or solemn festivals that week, we will not be issuing homework, though students may complete an optional project on 'How My Family Celebrates', which will count towards the Archdruid of Glastonbury's Community Service Award.

Please note that the school will be closed for the entirety of the second week after Mabon for the celebrations of Madgy-Figgy Moonshadow's Birthday. The reincarnated Moonshadow matriarch will be turning five. She has announced that the themes of the celebration will be Buses, Chocolate and Digging Up That Document Box She Buried For Safety During The Blitz.

Dear Ms and Mr Sinjun,
We are so sorry to hear about the mix-up with your daughter Catherine's class drawer at coat peg. Ms Shipton, who is rather hard of hearing, believed your daughter said that her name was the more usual Catkin. We have changed the signage and hope that Catherine will continue to be a happy and engaged member of Seal Class. We think it is too soon to worry about whether she will grow up to be Home Secretary.

Asked Mx Loge if it was reasonable to ask for someone flexible and open. They said it was a school, not a yoga studio. Have to admit they are probably right.

Drafting the job listing for a new teacher for Seal Class. I've mentioned that we have a nondenominational meditation / prayer room and that employees wishing to burn their own candles on the premises will need to talk to Mx Loge because of the fire regs, and added a helpful leaflet about food certifications in the cafeteria. I feel like I'm missing something, though. We want to increase #diversity on our team, but we don't want a repeat of what happened last time.

The article reads in part 'Ms Hattock, 25, discovered while researching her family history that she is not descended from royalty or famous witches, or indeed anyone of note except a former Mayor of Bognor Regis. 'I never get inexplicable feelings about people or places,' she told our reporter, 'and even if I did I expect they wouldn't be any more reliable than a coin flip'. Not only that, she has never seen a ghost!'

Roads are closed around Binley today for the Shove Ball Match. which will as usual be played between Binley Stoke (Shirts);and the combined team from Little Binley and Maidenwells (Skins). Kick-off at 12 noon outside the Toadmen's Arms. The usual rules apply - no eye-gouging, no tractor-mounted weaponry, and absolutely no kelpies.

When I got home both of the cat were waiting for me expectantly and saying 'fyawoo, *awoo*.' They had arranged their new cat toys on the kitchen floor along with a mouse skull and what I think were probably vole femurs, and kept pawing me and patting it.
Coincidentally my invitation to Mr Ardanes' wedding came. I'm a bit perplexed by the wish list.

Dropped by the Crafts of the Wise shop to see if they had anything on sale before the Imbolc charts and special yarns come in. Persephone said she'd had an invitation to Mr Ardanes and Blidwen's wedding and the dress code was a bit peculiar - robes or skyclad, no weapons. I said good luck to them separating Orion from that scythe of his. Persephone said he'd only bring his petrol powered brush cutter instead and it'd be too noisy to hear the vows.
Might this be a good thing?

Kiirstjn very kindly came round with catnip toys she had made for the cat - an owl and a flower, both very cute. I praised her work and asked if she ever knitted poppets for spell work. She looked horrified and said no.
Later, of course, I realised what I'd done. What a rude thing for me to say to a crocheter!

What strange little creatures cats are! They were both jumping up urgently at Mr Ardanes and saying 'fyawoo, awoo' but they didn't want to go home with him.
'Are you putting in orders for cat toys?' said Krstiin, scratching one of them behind the ear. 'Do you want a flower and an owl?'
She's really very sweet, though a bit peculiar. It sounded like she was asking the cats if they'd been naughty or nice. I said 'What was that about mice?' but she just said never mind.

... but then I remembered that there are faith traditions that were founded in cities, like some branches of Kemeticism and Sumerian Reconstructionism, so I kept my mouth shut, and very soon after that Mr Ardanes came banging on the door demanding his cat back and that changed the subject. I noticed he was looking rather unwell.

Meanwhile El's flatmate Kyrstejn (sp?) is in the kitchen making coffee and apologising for the disturbance. I've always thought she was a rather cold, uptight woman, I'm afraid, but she really seems very nice. I said I hoped it wasn't all spoiling the Solstice for her. She said 'Oh - I'm not pagan.'
I nearly said that *everyone's* pagan if you go far enough back...

Mx Loge showed up very briefly (and apparently *very* drunk, though I'm not sure I believe it) on a motorbike at around 3 am and yelled some inflammatory things, causing everyone involved including Elionora to chase off after them like some kind of Pie-eyed Piper. They were last seen heading towards the old tin mine. I do hope El is ok.

Around that point Brian Cowpox and his drum circle came marching up the hill. I asked Brian if he too wanted to marry Elionora.
"I have to keep my energy pure and available for my spiritual brethren," said Brian, looking sanctimonious. "I'm here to keep an eye on Wimhof. No offence, but those people are a *cult*."

UPDATE
Now local surf instructor Wulf Wimhof has shown up with some of his followers, and there is quite a crowd of spectators in the street. I went out to see what was going on just as Wulf started shouting that *he* was the bravest local warrior.
"He certainly is," said Mr Sanders' nephew Cyril Sanders the poet, offering me some tea from a thermos, "wearing that wetsuit with his figure."

Fore Street has been opened for traffic again as the visitors are now gathered on Elionora next door's lawn. They appear to think they have claims on that big amber necklace she won in the raffle. It's all a bit noisy out there but I *think* the short Scandinavians just offered her all the gold in the Rhine whereas the very large Scandinavians are offering the hand in marriage of the world's most cunning warrior.
I have rung up Mx Loge and left a message.

VILLAGE NOTICE
You may have noticed a group of unusually large Scandinavians and a smaller but very determined party of very short Scandinavians having a scuffle up and down Fore Street today. This is *not* the Little Binley Shove Ball Match, which will occur as usual twelve days after the Solstice in an area of approximately three miles radius in and around Little Binley (do not go beyond the old tin mine), and we don't *think* it's a Viking invasion.

Later, among societies that embraced farming, the tradition of a #HarvestFestival took hold. There are also many stories about the Underworld set around this time of equal day and night, such as that of Mabon ap Modron, but in fact the agreement to name the festival we all love after him was only reached in the 1970s!

Elionora is annoyed that commenters on her #WitchTok unboxing videos are calling her #inclusivity into doubt. "All I said was that you could wear the robes to work, a moot or an informal ritual!" she said, rummaging through my herbal teabag tin. "Doesn't everyone need to go to a ritual occasionally, say if their normal friends are getting handfasted, or at Samhain? And haven't you got any of the pomegranate and cranberry ones left?"

Re: AssembliesCan we please all make an effort to remember that we are a #multifaith School when choosing songs for Assembly? I know everyone prefers the songs we learned when we were children ourselves, and they do mostly have better tunes, but we need to be #allies to those from minority religious traditions.
In particular:
'Onward, Pagan Army' is unsuitable even if you leave out verses 2-4, 7-9 and all the actions.

The Summer Solstice is coming, bringing with it not only sacred celebrations and merrymaking but the #VillageShow. Show schedules are now available in the Village Shop. This year there are two separate categories for Red Work, one under Handicrafts (Needlework) and one under Best Ritual. Please state which you are entering *clearly* on the form.
Also please note that no kelpies are eligible to enter the Gymkhana. If your pony has kelpie ancestry it will be disqualified.

A joyous Lá Fhéile Pádraig to all our neighbours in Medinat Ireland and around the world! This festival, also known as Pátrikablót, celebrates the life of the holy pest-eradicator Pádraig / Pátrik, and Irish culture in general.
This is a good time to remember that much of what we think of as #Insular Celtic paganism, from celebrating Imbolc and Lughnasadh to the Ogham script to reverence for bards and storytellers, has its roots in the rich Irish culture. Blessed be, Pátrik! 🍀

The #SpringEquinox is coming here in the Northern Hemisphere! For our friends in the Southern Hemisphere, it is the #AutumnEquinox. Just as the sunset over our village here in the #InsularKingdoms is sunrise on the other side of the world, so as the days lengthen in one place they shrink in another. #EverythingIsConnected
On another note, while we wish all our Christian friends a meaningful fast during their season of Borrowed, it is never appropriate to re-heat fish in the office microwave.
