I'm seeing and hearing #Instragram ads talking about "family tools" and "safe use" of their product.
Obviously this is happening as a response to the rising narrative that addictive social media algorithms are ... well, addictive.Companies that want or need to warn customers have so far been gambling, tobacco and alcohol. I guess social media is in that club now: #legalisedaddiction

Je pense que cela a un interet limite (au moins dans mon cas) car les follows ne sont pas des specialement des comptes qui postent des photos et du coup tu te retrouves avec un feed pourri ;-)Prochaine etape tester l'import d' #instragram

This makes no sense. #threads does not need #mastodon users, because it already has far more users via #instragram.
And as Eugen pointed out correctly, if #threads cuts off #activitypub some day, then everything will be again as it is now.
If you are afraid of #threads being too successful, then the solution is not to block and wall off (this makes the problem only worse), but to make #mastodon better.

According to @BBCWorld The new Meta Threads social media site has 10m users already. It is not officially available in the EU due to concerns over data protection. If only 1 in 10 users of #Instragram users join, then it will be more popular than #Twitter.
