I bought a 6 quart InstaPot on sale. I’ve wanted one for a while but it seemed silly since I already have a rice cooker and a slow cooker.
The first thing I want to make is idli batter using the yogurt setting. I’ve been using instant mix and want to try using idli rava and urad dal. It sounds like a lot of work but less than starting with idli rice.
What’s the second thing I should make?

I am thinking of this for lunch today - Baingan Tamatar -eggplants cooked with tomatoes, onions, and spices. Quite easy to make, one pan only, good with rice. I can make in the #InstaPot on saute function to reduce heat even further (similar to how I cooked yesterday's dish.)
Another 40C day today.

Musing a bit about subscription values this afternoon, brought on by enjoying my #InstantPot #InstaPot even though I'm a very challenged cook -- because there is a wealth of good cookbooks available. No subscription required.
Our #Thermomix #TM6 on the other hand, has ZERO cookbooks available (some iffy fan-made ones on the secondary market but I dunno about them) and costs $55/annually for #Cookidoo in order to access recipes. Customer service is ... lacking.

Followed instructions, primed my #InstaPot, and was impressed its release of steam. Brown rice, broccoli florets, red cabbage, garlic, some fusili pasta, a splash of non-alcoholic Guinness (there is such a thing), and pork heart soon followed.

The ONE item that we can buy that will last us for years get punished for making their product too good in this market.
