A rare pictures of Inspector Clouseau. After nearly a years work with The Inspector, I can finally get close enough to both get a decent look at him AND take a decent picture. I am apparently less scary than Mr. The Kitten Soda Pop, who is half his size. Not exactly a big fan of him being scared of Soda, but I gotten work with what the ferals give me.

The mystery that is Mr The Inspector continues ever onward. However, at least a new mystery has been solved. This morning, I was looking out my kitchens north and west windows to watch him walk by, when he suddenly stopped and started rolling around. I was intrigued, but couldn't think of anything that would elicit such a response from him. I now realize that he was rolling around either in or right next to the hole.

Despite breaking the rules of traditional ocean camouflage (where a white belly helps a ray blend into the bright surface when viewed from below), he is thriving, healthy, and completely accepted by his fellow rays. In fact, most times he is spotted, he is actively participating in courtship trains with standard-colored mantas. He is an absolute, one-of-a-kind marvel of nature! -
A special treat for you: Inspector Clouseau!
This is "Inspector Clouseau," the world's only known pink manta ray. He is an 11-foot (3.4-meter) male reef manta ray who lives around Lady Elliot Island at the southern tip of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. He was first discovered in 2015 and was aptly named after the bumbling detective in the Pink Panther films.

By chance caught a rolling around Inspector Clouseau again, this time in a known Silvervine Fruit, Powder location. Specifically, it is the grass I sit next to when I play/supervise eating with Jasper-Pop. I sprinkle some powder in the grass on occasion, and that is where Mr. The Inspector was rolling.

I’m reading #DonQuixote by #MiguelDeCervantes at the moment and thoroughly enjoying it. Since overhearing a little of it in an audiobook not long ago, I realized that it was not a dry #book at all. There are glimpses of what later authors, like #PGWodehouse and even #TerryPratchett took from it and also characters like #InspectorClouseau show traits of the deluded hero of the book.
