#BigW fluffy slippers were warm on top but inadequately insulated from the cold of the tile floor.
(You can provide a thermodynamically more accurate description in the Replies for five bonus Pedant Points. Thinking correctly about physics is important.)Insoles were cut from the fine Italian furniture leather that had previously graced a +$10,000 TV couch set* that got thrown out.
Some, but probably little, exaggeration here.

If and when my Spenco Polysorb insoles wear out, I'll try something similar from Sorbothane.

Can't wait for my Spenco Polysorb insoles to arrive. I'm on my feet all day at work, and these will be super comfy.

I just got my first custom orthodic #insoles to (hopefully) help with the #ChronicPain caused by my #CTEV
They feel weird and hard and like I am rocking backwards a bit when I walk.
Gonna take some getting use to, I guess.
Anyone else have experience with breaking these things in?

Further to my post that I am taking Merrell Moabs on both my upcoming FRC (and now Drakensberg) trips, it is also important to mention insoles.
I use custom footbeds from Sidas. I go to a local boot fitter, called Andar Sports, which has all the necessary equipment to do this properly.Having custom footbeds, makes for better walking, more comfort and less strain. They may weigh a bit more that the stock soles, included with the boot, but shoe companies specialise in making shoes, not foot beds. After a long day, I really do not want to be slogging to a campsite or home in dead beat feet. Custom footbeds go a long way to prevent this.
