    The #Island #InselderJugend, with 1.8-hectare in the #Spree #River in #Berlin, belongs to the #AltTreptow locality, near the #Plänterwald #forest. Originally a shallow reed-covered hill, the island was enlarged with rubble since 1860 and got in 1916 one of the first steelcompositebridges in Germany. A #recreationalarea during the #GDR, it continues to offer recreation today, i.a. as beach bar and a natural semiarid #meadow.
