  1. Is there any correlation between neurodiversity and having/not having an inner monologue/soundtrack, or do roughly the same % of both ND and NT people experience the monologue and/or soundtrack? (Using just "monologue" for space reasons; NT=neurotypical)

Note: I am aware that Mastodon is not a representative sample of the population at large. But it's what's here.

  2. Did you know that 30-50% of people do NOT have a running inner monologue?

    For real!

I’m amazed by that number! How can people be walking around without an inner companion constantly opining, over analyzing or babbling. The silence to me is inconceivable. I am using that word correctly. :akko_wink:

  3. I don't really have an #InnerMonologue so when I get songs stuck in my head I don't "hear" them in there.

Instead I find myself wanting to spontaneously sing that song, compulsively, out of nowhere.

Sometimes I get songs attached to places, too. Back when I was in the office, there was this one particular room where I always wanted to sing The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

    Brains are weird.
