#ThursdayTryptich - not really a thing, but, there you are 😆 My veggies are struggling a bit this year, but it looks like we’ll have plenty of pumpkins come fall!

A Wednesday #tryptic - Hydrangea that was new-to-me last year. I’d seen one on our morning dog walk two years ago and became fascinated by the conical shape of the flower heads, and the white color. The local nurseries didn’t seem to have such a thing, so I finally did an Internet search and found one at a cultivating nursery. Last year it was quite small, but didn’t disappoint. It seems to have gotten a good toe-hold, so I am very pleased that it will become part of my landscape!

Plums are coming on!

The very last of this years’ Iris. It is also the very first to bloom in spring! This cherry cola chocolate colored iris was the first I planted in the garden of our new home 10 years ago. It was shared by a dear neighbor who is now gone, and has reproduced with mind numbing speed. It now banks an entire retaining wall and is absolutely stunning when the entire group is in bloom - the fragrance is heady.

This stunning Pink Peace hybrid tea rose is the most scented rose I’ve ever grown. It’s sits right outside my workshop window where I can enjoy its fragrance wafting through the open window. I love that the under side of the petals is almost white while the fronts are an intense fuchsia.

“Hey now! You can stick that tongue right back in your mouth!”

Hello Fancy! It’s the beginning of the end for my Iris in the garden this year, but I couldn’t say goodbye until showcasing this beauty. Also my entry for #FragranceFriday as she’s one amazingly fragrant Iris!

HEY! Quit pokin’ me with that thing!
-
Don’t know if #FragranceFriday is a thing 😆 This beauty, along with everything else in the yard, was completely overgrown with wild blackberries when we moved in. Overtime, we liberated many fun finds, but this climber remains my favorite. It’s covered with showy blooms all summer, and their fragrance is heady!

Are you sticking your tongue out at me?

Bud to bloom tryptic. First rose to bloom in my garden this year. I believe it’s a “Peace Hybrid Tea” but don’t know for sure as it had been cut to the ground just before we moved into this house. It bounced back beautifully, and ten years later is now a massive tea rose that produces till fall.
