  1. 136 - Thunderbird

Can't do a collection of inactive X-Men without arguably the most famous one of all.

Somewhere along the way, I misplaced this card, so these images are from @tradingcarddb.

  2. 135 - Mastermind

One of the better trading card/static image depictions of Mastermind's powers.

The power description is reaching a bit; he technically doesn't go into people's minds - he needed help to do that w/Phoenix

  3. 134 - Dark Phoenix

Can't do a "dead X-Men" subset without Dark Phoenix!

The description of her powers on the cardback seems to have forgotten Phoenix was also telepathic.

  6. 133 - Mimic

As someone with a lot of fondness for the (not very good) 60s X-Men stories, I appreciate Mimic getting a card (presumably due to his imminent return as part of the Onslaught build-up).

  9. 128 - Warlock

What a great card. To have Sienkiewicz working on this set and NOT have him do the Warlock card would have been a crime.

  11. I just heard that an old friend and colleague with whom I’d lost touch has died. There are lots of things to be said by people closer to them than I had become. But this person was kind, and classy, and creative. And by being all of that, they made the world, and so many other people’s lives, far better. If you know anyone like that, tell them so.

  13. Bill Cobbs, a veteran actor whose career spanned five decades, has died at age 90. He started on the stage and went on to have roles in TV and film, with his best-known performances being in "The Bodyguard," "Demolition Man" "That Thing You Do" and the "Night at the Museum" series. His final acting credit came last year, when he appeared in TV mini-series "Incandescent Love." Here's more from CNN.

  14. Daniel Kahneman, the Nobel Prize-winning psychologist and author of "Thinking Fast and Slow," died today at age 90. Here's a tribute to him from NPR. "Danny was a giant in the field," said Eldar Shafir, a professor at Princeton. "Many areas in the social sciences simply have not been the same since he arrived on the scene."
