It's sine die in #Indiana and I can officially report that NO ANTI-LGBTQ LANGUAGE SURVIVED THIS SESSION.
This is the first time that's happened since 2020 - the start of the anti-#trans wave that has swept the country.
This is a very big deal, and today I'm pleased and proud to call myself a #Hoosier.

Lawmakers eye road spending review as universally hated Mid-States Corridor nears construction
"Latest cost estimates put the total project at more than $3 billion...We’ll have to see how many dollars we have available to do that, because we certainly don’t want to do a huge project like that and then our safety improvement projects get put on hold,”
What IS this? The legislature doing sensible things is disrupting my whole worldview.

In #Indiana, I generally think of the anti-trans wave as starting in 2020, the most recent year we were able to stop all anti-LGBTQ legislation.
I just watched a (formerly?) powerful state senator fail to get a MAGA wet-dream of a bill out of committee, and then repeatedly fail to get amendments with similar language attached to three other Republican bills.
It's hard not to feel like the moral panic train is starting to run out of gas.

Last month, #Hoosier lawmakers were victims of an awful campaign of political harassment. I hope those who experienced living under such a threat will oppose #SB182, which would expose #trans people to similar threats.
Judges in #Indiana agree that we are at risk of harassment, and regularly order gender marker changes to be confidential.
We can save our ability to get the safety and privacy of an updated birth certificate.

Good morning! The #Indiana #redistricting battle shambles to its inevitable end tomorrow. The BMV continues its assault on the safety of #transgender people. News about my priorities, plus my usual "5 things" -- actions you can do right now to make a difference. All in the December issue of my newsletter, MUSE.

We've just rounded two and a half hours of complete and total opposition.
-
Hey there #Evansville #HoosierMast - one last boost before the event, but if you have time this evening we'll be writing letters to lawmakers in opposition to redistricting!
We'll be at the old Washington Square Mall food court. Come on out and join us - I'm buying free breadsticks for everyone!

When I first saw this breakdown of our work year I gasped and then sobbed.
What an honor to fight alongside such people. Supporters and staff alike.
This was the hardest year of fighting I've ever had and no, I'm not done. Just more determined than ever. I know a lot of my friends and colleagues feel the same way.
Bruised, but not beaten. Not by a long shot.
