I also got a photo of this stack, healed about two years.
The bottom is The Androgyne: a reconciliation of various facets of oneself, balance within figure, within embodiment, though embodiment itself is necessarily imperfect.
The top is a sigil earned through passage: specifically trials related to mammalian fertility and a subject which I won't mention here because it always starts fights.

Today's work: constructing a new needle grouping from a fox femur and screwbean mesquite thorns. It's been sterilized and should be ready to test tomorrow evening.
Screwbean mesquites are our true natives, along with velvet mesquites which don't boast quite such impressive thorns. They are thriving here, valuable habitat for many beings, valuable shade and windbreak for us and others, and a critical source of food.
Returning to tattoo, though it hasn't even really begun yet, has been wonderful, awakening. I have a very special plan for this grouping.

The beginning of the first sheet I'm able to draw since the injury! I never do florals, or plants at all for that matter, so I thought it was time to make some semi-realistic flowers, starting with this rose!
When I'm done doing this in graphite I want to do a version in a black linework style I've been seeing a lot that's a little more easily translatable to dotwork tattoo and I'm excited. Right now I'm chipping away at this maybe 20-30 minutes at a time so I don't strain my wrist, so it'll take some time but I'll be excited to share as I log more studio time and start producing work again.

I suppose though I've been floating around Fedi in one form or another I should do an #Introduction post once again.
For those of you who I have yet to meet, hello! I am Siin. I am an animist witch embedded in the ecosystem now called the Mojave desert, stewarding this land. One of my jobs is to perform sacred tattoos for those with whom I am in appropriate relation. I do many things, but these are primary.

For those of you who are familiar to me: I hope you're okay with me hopping back into this space! The ActivityPub instance connected to my website lacks features that are critical, I've learned, to interacting wholly in this space. This, and that we're entering a more isolating season, has me seeking out the feeling of shared Practice here once again.
