I've been working on a portrait of an Elf lady all week and it's not yet done, but I put a couple of in-progress shots on Patreon (public post). It's kinda fun to see how a piece develops and shifts as it goes from a sketch concept to an actual painting.

Despite being a little intimidated, I tried out my new paints with some wee mushrooms! I also tried painting some leaves and stuff but they look more like blobs than leaves. This is going to take some practice - but I'm absolutely in love with the texture and granulation. :)

So, a few days ago I cleaned & filled my Hexo with Parker Quink Blue-Black ink. Just now, I decided to doodle a bit on photo paper to see how the ink behaves on smooth/shiny surfaces. Spoiler alert: Besides Schneider's Royal Blue for the rollerballpen, I've found my new everyday blue for fountainpens. 😁
Picture 1 (printed with the ship photo): AgfaPhoto Glossy inkjet paper 4" x 6":
Oh my gosh, what a terribly bad paper! Even during the test print for my printer settings, the photo came out looking shabby. And when writing with the fountain pen, the ink was absorbed poorly and unevenly.
Picture 2, Tetenal Spectre PE Lustre inkjet paper 4" x 6", ~ 12-15 years expired:
The Quink fountain pen ink applies well, has sharp edges, and even on this very old paper, it immediately seeps under the PE protective layer and dries instantly, just like printer inks do (and should!). I didn't expect the Quink to work so well on photo paper.
Unfortunately, Tetenal Spectre has been out of production for a long time and I'm currently living off my remaining stock. Oh, and on regular paper, the Quink Blue-Black behaves just as well. I'm in love! 🙂🙃🤩

(en: below) Na gut, es ist nicht wirklich ein #Füller , aber für schnelles Gekritzel unterwegs will ich nun endlich mal nen #Tintenroller ausprobieren. Also hab ich meinem Mann uind mir gestern jeweils einen geordert. Es passen handelsübliche Tintenpatronen und auch Konverter. Ich bin mal gespannt, Montag soll das Päckchen ankommen... :smile:
OnlinePen Switch Expert (Orig picture source: online-pen.de)(en) Okay, this is not really a fountain pen, but the ink roller is already well suited for quick notes outdoor or in bus or car. And: It is even possible to refill the pen with standard ink cartridges (and even with ink converters) - exactly 'my thing'! :wink:
Yesterday I ordered two pieces (an additional one for my husband) - they should arrive on Monday. I really can't wait! 🤭
