#inkstitch — Public Fediverse posts

Just in time for the #inkstitch beta release, I updated the stitch library (https://inkstitch.org/docs/stitch-library/): a simple butterfly using every available stitch type (new stitch types included). Every butterfly can be downloaded for inspection.

Make your own: download the template https://inkstitch.org/tutorials/butterfly-template/ , adapt the basic shape to your needs and apply your own stitch settings.

This is a great example of how well you can combine the usage of embroidery and cutting machines in #inkscape

Neuer Versuch (rechts unten). Leider war die oberfadenspannung zu hoch und deshalb sieht man den schwarzen unterfaden teilweise. Außerdem ist mir zwei mal der oberfaden gerissen (fadenspannung?) und zwei mal die Nadel abgebrochen. #inkstitch #machineembroidery

Gibt es hier jemanden, di:er #inkstitch regelmäßig benutzt und Bock auf ne Art Co-working hätte? Man arbeitet an eigenen Entwürfen, aber sitzt online zusammen und kann sich gegenseitig helfen.

Unsere Nachbar*innen von Gleis D haben uns angefragt, ob wir nicht ein paar Textilien für die Ehrenamtlichen besticken können, also erst einmal die Datei dafür erstellt. Und dabei noch das alte @freifunkh Stickprojekt gefunden. Was natürlich auch nicht fehlen darf für unsere #Glasfaser Fraktion: #SpliceGirls #Patches! Und unsere #Sticker sind jetzt im handlichen Einzelformat, statt auf A4-Bogen.

Now that I have learned that Microgramma/Eurostile was the font used, I could finally make the embroidery file for the Weyland-Yutani Corp badge :)

SVG with Inkstitch params in the SVG folder, DST files in 100x100 and 40x50mm in the DST folder, preview PNG in the PNG folder.

Any idea, what I need to adjust in #inkstitch to get rid of this small black stripes in the upper right corner? They occure due to segmentation of the fillstitch.
(Ignore the mess in the lower left corner, this was due to too much thread on the bobbin spool)

on the 1951 font "Banco".
BancoBender is a quick p5js tool to create remixes, export SVGs and create whatever you want with it.
