We are exploring some ambitious ideas around reducing external dependencies and relying more on our own libraries across MISP and related tooling. Over the past year, we have been working on a replacement network graph library for the new MISP interface and things are getting really interesting. Pivotick is already used in around ten open-source tools, including CTI Transmute, AIL Project, and Rulezet. It has also recently been integrated into the new MISP UI, OverMind. The library is, of course, open source and comes with extensive documentation, including AI-parseable documentation to make integration easier. We have just released Pivotick v1.2.0.

RE: https://hachyderm.io/@thomasfuchs/116806189762868472
The purpose of an infographic should be to show emergent properties that can be observed by overlaying different sets of data. This one performs that task admirably.

I saw some interesting fish lifecycle diagrams in a french local museum — google lens isn’t showing me much, anyone recognize these? #infovis

I think this just-published paper is a prime example of what our @jovi journal is about: over three review rounds and more than one year, the reviewers worked _together_ with the author to improve the paper until it was ready to publish. And they are rightfully proud of their contribution, so they signed their own name to their reviews (which are also published along with the paper). Kudos! 🥳

The new sighting map in vulnerability-lookup provides valuable insights into vulnerability activity trends.
Thanks to @cedric for the hard work testing all the graphical libraries and ultimately choosing a simple, efficient infovis approach.

Does anyone know about #infovis research being done on the perception of #arrows in maps and visualizations? Like, are arrows representing quantities being interpreted by length or area? What is the influence of different arrow shapes? What role does the arrow angle play? Does the Muller-Lyer illusion have an effect on arrow interpretation? Would be thankful for any hints to infovis literature 🙏 thx

A map of Redfern if you scaled the roads by roughly how long you spend waiting at traffic lights (if you walked at 1.2m/s instead) (Better Intersections data)
info vis/cartography experts: any ideas how I could automate this?
I'm thinking some sort of force-graph lib where I could slice up maps by roads with signals, attach images with force vectors based on the max ped wait time and then let that equalise? Or better yet a vector map solution?

At @datawrapper we have this tradition to cycle trough all employees to do weekly charts. 📊
For my first one, I went on a deep dive of my goal to run 1000 km over a year. 🏃♂️
What areas of your live you’d wish for more insights on (sport or something else)? #datavis #infovis #applewatch #running -

I hate the term "Small Multiples". Ggplot also uses a weird term, "facets". I've found the term "lattice charts" much clearer. #infovis
