  1. A quotation from Eric Hoffer

They who clamor loudest for freedom are often the ones least likely to be happy in a free society. The frustrated, oppressed by their shortcomings, blame their failure on existing restraints. Actually, their innermost desire is for an end to the “free for all.” They want to eliminate free competition and the ruthless testing to which the individual is continually subjected in a free society.

Eric Hoffer (1902-1983) American writer, philosopher, longshoreman
True Believer: Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements, Part 2, ch. 5, § 28 (1951)

  6. A quotation from Robert Ingersoll

Men are not superior by reason of the accidents of race or color. They are superior who have the best heart — the best brain. Superiority is born of honesty, of virtue, of charity, and above all, of the love of liberty. The superior man is the providence of the inferior. He is eyes for the blind, strength for the weak, and a shield for the defenseless. He stands erect by bending above the fallen. He rises by lifting others.

Robert Green Ingersoll (1833-1899) American lawyer, freethinker, orator
Speech (1883-10-22), “Liberty,” Address on the Civil Rights Act, Lincoln Hall, Washington, D. C.

It iz one ov the hardest things on earth for a man to learn,—that he plays a third rate game ov whist.

  15. The Inferiority Complex

The hardest decision that I had to make in my life so far was labeling myself selfish for being structurally unable to meet the people that everybody else in my community already knows well. I am meant to be famous, and everyone around me with the exception of my direct authorities would agree. However, after never receiving the natural opportunities that would allow me to network with peers that everybody else gets to network to, I would decide that I am a lesser person for my missed […]

    Regarding #Trump's recent physical...

    1. Trump lies. Constantly. About everything. It's his default state of being, and is as natural as breathing to him.

    2. Trump has a massive ego and also a massive inferiority complex. He needs constant fluffing and reinforcement. He has to be told he is better, handsomer, smarter, everything-er than everybody else.

Put those together, and you get:

    3. The things Trump lies about more than anything else are ... himself. He cheats at golf to win tournaments at clubs he owns, so he can be "champion". He brags about first-placing in contests or comparisons that didn't happen or which don't rank participants at all. And on and on...

What's this got to do with his physical?

Well, he announced his results and it says he's 6'3" and weighs 224 pounds.

Which, if true, would mean he's 5 or 6 inches taller than me, but weighs the same. Anyone familiar with how scaling a 3D object up by linear factor X affects mass is now laughing their guts out.

He is *far* more obese than me. Of *course* he's lying about his weight. If he's less than 270 pounds I will eat my hat, and it would not surprise me in the least if he weighed 300 pounds.

So, do you want your government run by a pathetically insecure man-baby who has to lie about his weight to feel better than everyone else?

Shame on his doctor putting his signature to such bullshit.
