New #review today: " In fact this live #Discus album was available two years ago as a bonus disc in a Japanese box set of the band’s first two CDs, subtitled The Official Bootleg, but this is the first time it’s been available as a stand-alone disc; and regardless of that earlier subtitle, this is no bootleg — the recording quality and mix of the six tracks presented is nothing short of stellar, especially given the difficulty of recording some of the Indonesian acoustic instruments." #ExposeOnline #ProgressiveRock #IndonesianMusic http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/discus-live-in-switzerland-2005-3.html

Karena aku dapat mengenangmu
Untukku sendiri, oh~

Karena hujan pernah menahanmu di sini

Indonesian Pop with chaotic relationship energy
Dodo Zak & Cheryl just dropped “Gak Peka! (Terserah)” a fun & catchy Indonesian Pop track about couples who keep saying “whatever”… but actually don’t
Official Music Video : -
Sometimes the most dangerous word in a relationship isn’t “goodbye.”
It’s:
“Whatever.”🎵 Dodo Zak & Cheryl debut with “Gak Peka (Terserah)”
Introducing POPDUT — a fresh blend of Pop Groovy and Indonesian Dangdut.A fun, catchy, and painfully relatable anthem about modern relationships, mixed signals, and emotional confusion humans somehow still call “communication.”

There’s something interesting about artists who grow from talent shows into fully independent digital creators.
Been reading about Dewanda Pratama — strong vocal training, national competition background, now building her own lane online.
It’s a reminder that the “idol stage” isn’t the endgame anymore. The real work starts after.
For indie artists trying to transition to digital audiences, this was a solid read.

This music wasn’t made to be rushed.
Keroncong from Indonesia — warm strings, space between notes, and vocals that reward high-quality listening.
Try it with proper headphones or a good speaker setup.
The vintage character hits differently when you hear the details.Old music. Deep feeling. Timeless sound.

E Koestyara and Group Gapura – Sangkala (1985, Indonesia)
Our next spotlight is on number 444 on The List, submitted by weirdofhermiston.
Need something to instantly drop your blood pressure a few notches? Check out this gorgeous instrumental album of modern Indonesian music. From the back cover of the 1985 vinyl edition:
This is a record of modern Indonesian music that uses traditional instrumentation and classical degung forms. The degung ensemble is comprised of seven instrumentalists: one flute or suling player; a drummer or kendang player; and the remaining five playing a variety of tuned gongs and metalaphones. This particular ensemble, Group Gapura, is made up of some of Java’s finest musicians. Having sold over 100,000 copies, this record has become one of the most popular recordings of non-western music in Indonesia.
Happy listening!

Great informative article. Thanks for assembling the collection of tracks. I'm, personally, more inclined towards the post-punk and really enjoyed the Malarie track. Will definitely be checking them out.
Thanks!

-
Ahaaaa!
Âllah'ım nasıl bir çemberin döngüsündeyim?
Nereye baksam eski ilgilendiğim konulara geri çevriliyorum!
Kolosobo İlâhisinin son kıtasının sözlerinin tefsirine bakın!
YERYÜZÜNÜN 9 BOYUTU!
Nowo dewo jawoto, tali santiko bawono Prasido sidhikoro, ing sasono asmoroloyo Sri Narendro Kolosebo, winisudo ing gegono Datan gingsir…. sewu warso
Tefsiri bu Toot'a sığmadı.

Ölüyü oynayan rolünün bokunu çıkartmış! ツ

Wahyu Kolosebo ilâhisi sâyesinde Dad Can Dance'ın "Mushin"inin Endonezya Müziğinden esinlenme olduğunu farkettim!
