Summary/Review:Alice is a Mohawk woman married to a white man and living in Toronto with their newborn baby. Alice cares for the baby while attempting to write a novel based on the Mohawk creation story. She struggles with writing as she deals with postpartum depression, isolation from her family and community, microaggressions, and a rising sense of paranoia about the intentions of her husband and the white community around her. The novel threads the needle depicting mental illness and psychological horror interwoven with the very real trauma of racism and colonialism for indigenous people.
