Hey all, I'd just like to share this article from the #IndieSellersGuild about a new bill that just passed in the US, the #COOLOnlineAct. It's extremely relevant to any #artisans on here who sell or intend to sell their #handmade #crafts and wares, especially if you've been affected by #Etsy 's rampant dishonest reseller problem.

The ISG doesn't have a Mastodon established (yet) but I think folks over at @coopartisans might also be interested in sharing this information. Otherwise, uh... just... follow them too, and consider joining! Both organizations are good.

"Brian Conlan – Deputy Legislative Director from the office of Senator Tammy Baldwin – reached out to us to ask if we would support a new bill – the COOL Online Act. The bill requires products posted online from sellers in the US to display which country they were made in, much like products in US stores display the same “made in” labeling. In other words, a legal requirement for resellers to admit that their products are mass-produced overseas!"
