obviously, apple-and-honey and lulav-and-etrog scents will abound, but I'm looking forward to seeing what each house will bring to their unique collections 🥰

#IndiePerfume today I'm wearing Alkemia's Prophet and the Wanderer, which I got very recently during a sale of discontinued perfumes

I got it bc I've been wanting a desert-y perfume, and I wore it today solely because it was new, and I've already worn the other perfume I got from this sale (Silvern, v aquatic)

it's warm and spicy and ... dusty in an outdoors way (as opposed to a dusty attic), with hints of plant life and wildness. it wears well, with the hints of plant life etc fading in after the oil's been on the skin for a bit

I wasn't sure about it at first; I'm having mental health shit and I thought this wasn't the scent for my mood today, but it's actually really comforting, grounding even

notes: dry sand, desert grasses, mitti attar, the ozone of a dry thunderstorm, rotundone, Byakudan, Incienso, cassia,
desert roses

#IndiePerfume TIW Alkemia's Club des Hashischins. bought a sample last time I ordered from them

in bottle/wet: dark, coffee

on my skin: coffee, tobacco, spices. it's warm and intoxicating and complex

VERDICT: love it, want full size!

notes: A dark intoxication of hashish coffee and dawamesk from an original 1844 Club des Hashischins recipe that includes orange peel, cinnamon, clove, cardamon, nutmeg, and kola nuts blended with African Bronze Honey, blackberry pipe tobacco, leathered labdanum

in bottle/wet: sharp, ozonic, wild

on my skin: sharp and wild and homey, with that ozone scent still in the background. it reminds me of driving through a storm, trying to race a tornado to safety

VERDICT: that category of simultaneously wild and homey which I love so much; a sense of safety I never had as a kid

it smells warm and cardamom-y. it's so good and comforting.

this is one that my friend who got me into indie perfume bought. it's not something I would have thought I'd be into, but I LOVE IT

today I'm wearing BPAL's An Enchanted Cellar With Animals, from their Halloween collection

notes: A cacophony of feathers and fur, cracked clay and moist stone, scattered rushes, upturned herbs, red sage, and frankincense smoke

purchased for: clay and stone, feathers and fur

first sniff: mostly just smells sweet?

drydown: sweet & spicy; not getting a lot of clay/stone/animal

also I went to the dentist for my final filling!!! I have one more visit to get my temporary crown replaced with the real crown, but then it's just like yearly cleanings and nothing else!

I really want to try more #perfume from Solstice Scents but their catalog is so giant that it's impossible to pick anything.

Perhaps a little editing down and more focus would do such a small brand some good...but I guess that's not their prerogative and that's fine lol
