  3. London refuses to give the people of Scotland an #IndependenceReferendum.

The question of #ScottishIndependence will be answered at the ballot box in a general election.

With uncanny timing, the police investigation means @theSNP indyref funds are locked.

    Don't let them stop us.

  8. I remind anyone who thinks Joanna Cherry is asking a good question about Northern Ireland, what Cherry's declared views on the uprising and the civil wars of Ireland are:

(It's not pretty. And no supporter of Scottish independence should endorse it.)

  13. Saying that #NicolaSturgeon resigned because of the Gender Recognition Act amounts to say she was ousted by the Daily Mail. The #GRA was the most discussed issue in the history of the Scottish Parliament (hard fact) with opposers getting a huge platform and all resources to make her point, but is it now going to be portrayed as an imposition of Kim-Jong Sturgeon? The #IndependenceReferendum, on the other hand, was actually playing with fire, and most likely to be the cause.

  15. A short 🧵 triggered by the recent publication of two contradictory #opinionpolls measuring support for #ScottishIndependence.

They reminded me of my reaction to the response of, I think, Alister Jack, to the Supreme Court decision on the holding of an #independencereferendum. In essence, he said no referendum till at least 6 months’ worth of polls showed over 60% support for independence 1/

  20. Scottish Independence SC Ruling - the ruling today of the SC that an independence referendum cannot be held without Westminster consent is not surprising.

The role of the court is to interpret the law, and the law on this was fairly clear.

Does that mean it's over? No. Why not? (A thread)
