Holistically, there should be as many rigorous ways to validate a proposition as there were in generating the valid proposition. Only in the abstract, maximally constrained world of mathematics could we narrow them both down to a 'proof,' but they'd still be constrained by #incompleteness theorems.

Godel's #incompleteness theorem applies to any *single* #system. A formalism may not be able to describe itself completely, but an #ensemble can, transcending limits. Think of a Venn diagram: a system can't see outside its circle, but the complete answer is the #union.

Really, I'm critiquing the idea that math is a stand alone logic, free from the ambiguities of language. Could you teach 1 + 1 = 2 in that abstracted form without starting from a physical example, like put your apple & my apple in a basket and we have 2 apples? #incompleteness

I'd say that most things that survive (locally) for long periods of time make the same #evolutionary adjustment.

High efficiency is not #sustainable, unless periodic catastrophic crashes (in number) are tolerable.

OTOH, most systems do not come to this accord on their own, the environment in which it lives constrains optimal #efficiency attainable.
