Google rozpoczęło wdrażanie aktualizacji dla przeglądarki Chrome na urządzeniach mobilnych, która wprowadza zauważalną zmianę na stronie nowej karty.

W ślad za wersją na komputery stacjonarne, która podobną modyfikację otrzymała w lipcu, użytkownicy Androida i iOS zobaczą dwa nowe skróty: „Tryb AI” oraz „Incognito”.

Nowe przyciski mają formę pigułek i są umieszczone bezpośrednio pod głównym paskiem wyszukiwania „Wyszukaj w Google lub wpisz URL”. Ich dodanie powoduje przesunięcie karuzeli ulubionych stron (favicon) oraz kanału Discover nieco niżej na ekranie.

Pod względem wizualnym, nowy projekt ujednolica wygląd przeglądarki z główną aplikacją Google. Firma rezygnuje tym samym z wcześniejszych eksperymentalnych projektów, które testowała w tym miejscu, jak na przykład kolorowy pierścień wokół pola wyszukiwania.

Nowe skróty mają przede wszystkim ułatwić nawigację. Przycisk „Incognito” pozwala na szybsze uruchomienie sesji prywatnej niż poprzez otwieranie menu z trzema kropkami. Jak jednak zauważa redakcja 9to5Google, wciąż nie jest to najszybsza metoda – przytrzymanie ikony aplikacji Chrome na ekranie głównym i wybranie opcji z menu kontekstowego jest bardziej bezpośrednie.

Ważniejszym strategicznie ruchem wydaje się dodanie przycisku „Tryb AI”, który otwiera dedykowaną stronę google.com/AI. Jest to kolejny krok, po skrótach w Pixel Launcherze i na pulpicie, mający na celu mocniejsze zintegrowanie funkcji sztucznej inteligencji z podstawowymi interfejsami produktów Google. Zmiana jest wdrażana po stronie serwera dla użytkowników Chrome w wersji 141 lub nowszej na systemach Android oraz iOS.
