Teachers/professors, before you swap your class essays from typed to in class blue books in response to GPT3 #AI essays, take some time to make sure you've built in flexibility for #disabled and #neurodiverse folks who may need more time or less distraction, especially when writing by hand. And don't forget to clearly communicate said flexibility. #InclusivePedagogy

As might be obvious @jesshmitchell, the world of #OpenEducation isn't all rosy and there's a lot of othering in this field. Thankfully, Jess and others are doing their part to help us ensure we walk the walk when we wax poetic about #InclusivePedagogy, #InclusiveDesign, and #InclusivePractices in general.
As for the Fediverse itself, we'll need to ensure it eventually becomes a space for deep allyship. Part of the technical setup might help... yet not suffice.

Had a useful brainstorm on Accessibility, User Experience, Universal Design for Learning, Open Educational Resources, Gender-Based Analysis+ (GBA+), #Ethnography, #DiversityBonus, Open #EdTech, #FreeSoftware, #InclusivePedagogy, #Giftedness, #Access4All...
Hard to encapsulate in a toot. Almost a placeholder for further discussions of all of these things which are intrinsically related as we start projects. Also, #Infosec and #Privacy.

Here we are!
I'm a recovering academic who's avoided #PublishOrPerish.
Taught #EthnographicDisciplines for 20 years in 9 universities (in Qc, TX, ON, NB, IN, and MA). Still doing #fieldwork as an #ethnographer. #AppliedAnthropology
I currently work in a #Technopedagogy #NonProfit, focusing on #OpenEd, #OER, #LXD, #UDL, #CollaborativeLearning, #a11y, #EDI, #InclusivePedagogy, etc.
