Is there a good word or phrase that one could use in place of "the user"?
I'm writing a git commit, and the phrase "report the error back to the user" is making me a little uneasy for some reason.
It's probably the past 50+ years of snotty developers(*) and sysadmins looking down on the people that they're running the computing systems for. Or am I just being too sensitive?
(*) Includes me. Sorry.

Fresh off ATypI 2023 Paris, I've penned down my closing remarks on Medium. I'm talking about the need for more women in type tech and our shared vision for a more inclusive community. If you believe in this cause, check out the article, share it, and let's keep the conversation going. Together, we can create lasting change. 🔗 [https://medium.com/@paszkowska.marianna/atypi-2023-paris-women-in-type-tech-a-call-for-inclusion-and-action-b41607f2e777] #fontengineering #womenintype #inclusionintech
