The El Dorado Hills Fire Department said the electric vehicle crashed and then caught fire Saturday night.
"The Tesla Model Y was found fully engulfed in flames... body of passenger in front seat was ejected... bodies of, the driver and passenger were found after the fire was put out...."

Followup, this was fatal and sent 9 firefighters and police officers to the hospital:
WUSA9: Lanes remained closed on MD-295 in Anne Arundel County after fiery crash leaves driver dead, 9 firefighters and police officers hospitalized
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department says the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Nine first responders were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
"...They say preliminarily, it appears that the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, lost control and struck the wall. The electric vehicle subsequently caught fire.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department says the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of 8:30 p.m., the fire was still not out, and at least nine firefighters and police officers had been hospitalized after inhaling the toxic smoke fuming from the car.
