From RFC1035 https://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1035.txtTo simplify implementations, the total length of a domain name (i.e., label octets and label length octets) is restricted to 255 octets or less.
Therefore, one can just create a gay.<somethingsomething><whatever-tld> that fits the maximum length, and that would be considered #bottom level domain.
