Firstly, all cars are bad, obviously.
That said, we urgently need to electrify everything. The EU's import tariffs on Chinese EVs is a Bad Idea and here we see why.
This is apart from the simple, important point that, if people are going to buy a new car, (which they shouldn't) then it absolutely must be an EV. To make that happen, they need to be cheaper than combustion engined equivalents. Massive import tarriffs on EVs are a dick move.
