  4. In the #bourgeoisstate there are only “#free #people” who are forced into thousands of things (for example, into deference, into a confession of faith, and the like). But what does that matter? It’s only the state, the law, not any human being, that forces them!

    What does the bourgeoisie want from its railing against every personal order, every order not founded on the “cause,” on “reason,” etc.? It simply fights in the interest of the “cause” against the rule of “persons”! But the cause of the spirit is the rational, the good, the lawful, etc.; that is the “good cause.” The bourgeoisie wants an #impersonal #ruler.

  7. CW: 'customers' and 'consumers'...

    @greenpete Interesting point.

    Was thinking at the same time that 'as usual' things do happen over time or they were always about profit just on a smaller scale before - now just a monster version with different levels of it in the modern day (cut-throat) business (that was always there, state being the constant root usually).

    So it was always "business" #extraction / #domination / extended #monopoly of #extraction... though not everyone as a business had access or dreams of it that way... but over time everyone learned all the other #business tricks and used even more tools that kind of messed up their #customers and consumers (we were always both even in uneven levels) with how everything it because too #efficient or #redirected or #impersonal / #imported etc...

    I think major steps to what you said and what I say here were something like:

    2000s = Broadband mass-installed by state / companies. Exploration and habits change.

    2008 = Major Banks crash / bail-outs + effects after happen...

    20?? = Less variation of jobs / cuts in funding by state for "non-essentials" (like a "poor artists" type thing where main tree of funding is constantly cut / isn't there any more making people more dependent or somehow funneling them)

    2010 = Social media really kicking in / dominating even resistant / distant countries

    2020 COVID as a kind of forced #consumption / paying themselves to cause more risk / experiment #damage [=more #business] - and masks / vaccines as basic

    2020+ Various wars (economic also) as part of pulling people's taxes in and overall focus as country to generally go to war (price war, arms, anything).

    Just a quick reply (saw you didn't have any - or did you get some response?)

    It's interesting but overall always we were customers and consumers - just we locked in a lot more which also ties into people...

    “This is an odd turn for "social" media to take. Platforms that are supposedly based on the idea of connecting #people with one another, or at least sharing experiences and performances—YouTube’s slogan until 2013 was "Broadcast #Yourself"—now seem focused on getting us to consume #impersonal, algorithmic gruel.”

  14. CW: "Democracy is not the highest goal... ...people are retarded."

    "Government by the people, of the people, for the people... but the people are retarded."

    "Democracy is not the highest goal..."

    - famous #Osho quotes from Bondage to Freedom, Ch 31, Q 2 (excerpt)

    + my comments about Meritocracy after full quote below...

    ====================
    WHOLE #QUOTE (SECTION)
    ====================

    " Democracy is not the highest goal. It is better than dictatorial regimes, it is better than monarchies, but it is not the end of the journey – because democracy basically means government by the people, of the people, for the people, but the people are retarded. So let us say: government by the retarded, for the retarded, of the retarded.

    Democracy cannot be the highest possibility man can attain. It is good in comparison to other forms of government that have preceded it, but not something that can succeed it. I call that meritocracy. I want a government by the people of merit. And merit is a very rare quality."

    =================
    MY COMMENT ABOUT MERITOCRACY:
    =================

    I take issue with the MERITOCRACY *IF* it's not aiming to educate people from ground up because again it's a power shift away from the average person like if good Marathon runners leave the pack and do their own thing - we need everyone together (at least as some point if someone runs ahead to do some work but it is almost best at the same time so the better marathon runners don't make big mistakes assuming what people want) which might all need a lot of education but that's the point ad hard work. Educating people and how / when.

    Your users are the weakness on any system so only superior intellect IS NOT GOING TO WORK ON IT'S OWN.

    If people want a simple life to live rural that should not be seen as unintellectual or lacking merit to pick and grow apples so I took offense in "merit" thinking that people can easily reject other by that using any "system" (system also isn't a great word as a mass template for assuming everyone is the same sometimes or not working WITH their individuality - anonymous / impersonal systems).

    #Democracy ? #Meritocracy ? = #Impersonal #Systems

    #Education #Users = #Weakness
