This Friday, November 14, Bend’s #CruxFermentationProject releases this year’s edition of Tough Love #BarrelAged #ImperialStout with a release party from 5 to 9pm. The release will feature flights of vintage Tough Love, a chance to meet the brewers, and the opportunity to meet artist Michelle Schultz who created the label for the #beer.

Kleines Biereview: Störtebeker Hanse-Porter. 4% ABV.
Schmeckt eher wie Vitamalz mit ein bisschen Alkohol und zuviel Röstaroma, oder vtl. sogar ein Colabier-Gemisch, als ein "echtes" Porter.
Als #ImperialStout mit 7 - 8% ABV würde das erheblich mehr anrichten und zünden.
Hab daher testweise mal ein bisschen Ardmore unten drunter gegeben - und recht behalten! Auch so eine Mischvariante a la Peated Porter mit 6+ Umdrehungen könnte gut.

This is a very dark beer with quite a bitter finish. It is silky-smooth and you feel a slight warming from the 10% ABV. You do get very noticable unsweetened chocolate notes. Very tasty and I'd buy it again.

It’s #stoutFriday and I had to retry the #samuelSmiths #ImperialStout from England.
Paired it with pasta carbonara (ham, egg, milk, Parmesan cheese), trying to see if the heavy #yeast flavors would blend.
They did NOT. Sorry Sam, but this #stout is just too yeasty for my taste, I’ll be staying state side!

For #stoutFriday we paired #NorthCoastBrewing Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout with beef kabobs marinated in soy sauce, honey, and ketchup and grilled with pineapple!
A surprisingly good fit. Old Rasputin is as complex as THE Rasputin; roasty notes, moderate carbonation, a bitter I’d put around 70 (not on the label) and a sharp finish.

Got the usual odd looks drinking a #PrarieArtisanAles BOMB! #imperialStout on a warm summer evening, but damnit it’s SO GOOD! Rich and velvety with coffee, cacao, vanilla, and a hint of chili pepper.
Followed it with a shared #wabashaBrewing Horror Frost white stout, some #TopplingGoliath Rush Hollow Maple Ale, and a #BrauBrothers Moo Joos Red Velvet oatmeal #milkStout
