Such a deep dark pour, an amazing caramelly head, rich with sweet and chocolate and coffee notes. At 12% it’s all you need for a transcendent experience.

It’s #stoutFriday and I had to retry the #samuelSmiths #ImperialStout from England.
Paired it with pasta carbonara (ham, egg, milk, Parmesan cheese), trying to see if the heavy #yeast flavors would blend.
They did NOT. Sorry Sam, but this #stout is just too yeasty for my taste, I’ll be staying state side!

Got the usual odd looks drinking a #PrarieArtisanAles BOMB! #imperialStout on a warm summer evening, but damnit it’s SO GOOD! Rich and velvety with coffee, cacao, vanilla, and a hint of chili pepper.
Followed it with a shared #wabashaBrewing Horror Frost white stout, some #TopplingGoliath Rush Hollow Maple Ale, and a #BrauBrothers Moo Joos Red Velvet oatmeal #milkStout

Dark as night, full bodied and rich rich rich with chocolate and fruit and molasses and dark sugar notes. It coats with a hint of coffee and a perfect bitter after. Lick your lips and savor this religious experience! Truly a favorite!

Using stone Yorkshire squares for fermenting, to me it has a very yeasty nose and a mix of strong yeast and malt notes with mild carbonation. The hops noted don’t stand out to me at all.
I think I’ll stay state-side for my #Stouts.
