Also, iLife '06 had my absolute favorite splash screens (for some) of its apps –– which makes sense why only these had it. But damn, they're so beautiful. You just want to click each button.
Couple things I appreciate: Help buttons were purple and should always be purple and the inset appearance of the Quit button. Historically, Aqua buttons would protrude but these were nice and inset.
(Crazy to see how long the Podcasts icon/logo has lasted.)

I used Apple iMac and a MacBook Pro for years, precisely because it is UNIX and I could do Unixy things on it.
Sadly, because of the permissive #BSD license, #Apple has taken an open source operating system, and made it de facto, proprietary.
Why doesn't Apple release its creative tools, #GarageBand and #iMovie under the #GPL ?
It's not like they ever make money from those applications.
