  1. As a Jew who grew up in a bakery owned by my parents and uncle, and before that my grandparents, I know the life of Jews who have to work hard and own their own business. This is part of my family heritage.

My US family lived in New Jersey, just about an hour, an hour and a half from NYC.

In Seattle, at the turn of the century, when many in my Ashkenazi US family were coming to the United States, so too were Sephardi families, but they were landing in Seattle on the other side of the country.

This Youtube series explores the Sephardis in Seattle through the Pike Place Market, which still stands today!

  3. Ending My First Philly School Year with a Dose of Cool!

I know it's been a long time since I’ve mentioned anything school-related, but I’ve had a nice end to my first school year here in Philadelphia and I want to share... This is an image painted on the wall outside of my classroom. It was designed and painted by my former student, Tamara Vidal. The school I work in currently is quite different from the school I used to teach at in New York. When I say that, I am speaking of the students in my class. My ESL students back in […]

  7. I never planned to become a citizen of the world this way. No passport stamp. No plane. Just a dusty ground where ten nationalities learned to live under the same sky.

Loneliness, I learned, is also a doorway.

Grief carried by many hands becomes lighter.

    This is cross-cultural connection.

  11. ✨Fairytales From Home✨

I got to make another poster for English Theatre Leipzig!!
This time for their new production premiering December 4th 2025.
6 stories, 6 countries, 6 languages, 6 women. It’s going to be unforgettable!

I love how whimsical the illustration came out 🦋✨

  12. Every New Yorker recognizes the blue, white and gold Anthora coffee cup, but few know its beautiful origin story. Created in 1963 to serve NYC's thriving Greek immigrant community, these cups became so iconic that MoMA even made a ceramic version. From 500 million sold annually to near-extinction to comeback. It's a quintessentially NYC story.

  13. THE HATE WHICH TRUMP AND HIS MINIONS AIM AT IMMIGRANTS SEEKING SANCTUARY IS A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY AND THE REJECTION OF ALL CHRISTIAN VALUES. " PHARISEES AND HYPOCRITES!"

"When you did not welcome the stranger, you refuse to welcome me! Now depart into eternal damnation!" (Jesus: Matthew 25:35-46)
WE CANNOT FOOL JESUS ON THAT LAST DAY OF OUR LIVES!

  14. It was also a portal to understand better my partner, who shares the same fractured identity as Michelle Zauner, and also beginning to make a better sense of my MIL and where she comes from.

It was a wonderful gift to hear Michelle speak today about her mom, her identity and her journey, and have signed copies of her book! If you haven’t read this book yet, you should! ❤️ 2/2

  16. While this book is an emotional rollercoaster, loving this book a lot, especially how food forms a central element of this memoir, unsurprisingly for immigrant stories! @jbrekkie
