I was at Northern Illinois University today where more than 2000 area high school marching band students (including my daughter) played with the NIU band at halftime. What a great day and an awesome experience. (The empty stands in this photo are where all of the high school students sat before halftime.) One of the songs that they played was Earth Wind & Fire "September " because today is September 21st!! #marchingband #niu #imherefortheband #highschool #music #earthwindfire #illinois

My oldest is in pep band so I have attended a number of high school basketball games this season and I've learned the following:
1. the backboard doesn't exist.
2. the bounce pass doesn't exist.
3. if you've got the ball deep in the lane with a shot you should immediately pass it up to the top of the key instead.
