I know I'm a little late to this show, but I finally got round to watching "I'm in love with the villainess" and I really loved it.
Honestly was not expecting it to be that good and cover so many like queer themes with nuance and stuff. My expectations for that from anime are kinda low given how bad most are.
Also, literally me!!! which one?: yes.

I'm in Love with the Villainess episode 1:
Hmmm... it has funny moments, but a full length episode just felt like too much by the end. Not sure if the show will slow its pacing a little as it goes on... but could have used this as maybe a 12 min per episode show. That way the jokes don't get to repetitive in a single sitting.
I'll give this one more episode to make a decision on it.

Definitely watching #Frieren only had time to watch 1st EP so far but honestly depending on how the series progresses might get a spot in my top 10 anime
Besides that defintely watching #DrStone New World Part 2. Really excited about that one since it left off on a bit of a cliff hanger.
Also, #heavenofficialsblessing Season 2. Still can't believe that that one's in this season
Finally, #iminlovewiththevillainess I've really liked the otome isekai lately so seeing a yuri one is really exciting!

I first read the volume 1 two years ago, and happily re-read it as a refresher before starting on the 2nd book.
Vol. 1 could be accused of being a bit one-note for most of the story, while vol. 2 develops both of the leads in some nice ways, as Rae prioritizes Claire's happiness over her own desires, while Claire's thorny exterior softens in response.
There's also some explicit discussion of *various* sexualities.

Omg there's a scene that just comes out and says Rei is a lesbian I'm so happy 😭 even though I would be horrified if this scene happened IRL, as it started with Rei's roommate asking her point-blank in front of their friends, including the object of Rei's crush. I guess in this case the mitigating circumstance is that Rei was more or less out already, proclaiming her feelings for Claire from literally the first scene and openly pursuing her, but still.
What's more, the scene both exemplifies *and calls out* lesbophobia, with Rei & her roommate telling their friends that it's not cool to either treat Rei as a potential predator (as Claire does, though with cause in her case) or as an idealized tragic figure whose crush just happens to be female (as Claire's maid Rene does). Rei even shows self-awareness and genre savvy in admitting she's playing the predatory lesbian trope for laughs, with the understandable if still-indefensible reason that she needs to at least laugh at feelings that she doesn't believe will ever be reciprocated, and she wants to be part of Claire's world in some way. #amreading #ImInLoveWithTheVillainess #LightNovel
