30 years ago I could understand lining up at the bank to pay bills or services.
Today, I just don't get it, why people my age or younger still do it. Maybe they need to be shown? I was using my phone to make purchases as early as 2012.

The UN or the G7 or some such organization should hold a big conference with the heads of state of as many countries as possible attending.

Estimated historical #LiteracyRates, 1451 to 1701
I was looking for data on global historical literacy rates and this is something I found. Needless to say, the estimates are prone to large uncertainties but it is sobering to see that that before the 16th century, over 80% or populations were #illiterate. This would have meant that they were condemned to #poverty and prone to manipulation and subjugation by those in power, including religious organizations.
