    So apparently the current flag of Illinois is going to stay :us_state_il:​

    Good. :corgi_wtf1:​ The flag is bloody awful and needs to be replaced, but all the proposed flag designs were even worse somehow. The second place flag looks like the design a tub of butter would have, and the seventh place flag looks like Indiana's flag and Mississippi's flag had a secret affair child, just to name a couple. They're all so bad.

    I'm thinking, "Why does Illinois need to change their flag? The one they have is just fine!" That thinking was based on the flag I always see in Illinois.

    Then I learned that this flag is NOT the state flag... It's the city flag for Chicago. I never knew city flags were a thing. Maybe THIS should be the state flag. (After all, Chicago seems to be 90+% of Illinois anyway.) #IllinoisFlag #Illinois #Chicago
