Indigenous communities in Mexico successfully claimed a right to direct budgeting, a practice whereby communities directly decide on the allocation of a portion of government funding, bypassing municipal intermediaries.
Economic transformation and reallocation of power are two sides of the same coin! We will be talking about this at #IID2025.
