What do you need to do?
Pursuant to this new law, if the gender/sex indication on the face of your current credential does not match your sex assigned at birth, you are directed to surrender your current credential to the Kansas Division of Vehicles. Upon surrendering the credential, you will be issued a new credential reflecting the gender identification consistent with statutory requirements. If you have any questions regarding procedures for obtaining a legally compliant credential, please contact the Kansas Division of Vehicles or visit your local driver licensing office.

What does this mean for you?
If you have received this notice, our records indicate that, upon publication of this law in the Kansas Register on Thursday, February 26, 2026, your current Kansas credential will no longer be valid. Additionally, please note that the Legislature did not include a grace period for updating credentials. This means that once the law is officially enacted, your current credential will be invalid immediately, and you may be subject to additional penalties if you are operating a vehicle without a valid credential.

House Substitute for Senate Bill 244, enacted by the Kansas Legislature overriding Governor Kelly's veto, requires Kansas-issued driver s licenses and identification cards to reflect the credential holder's sex at birth and directs the Division of Vehicles to comply with K.S.A. 77-207.

I cleaned these up and noticed they were coated in something just a little bit waxy? so decided “maybe it’s boeshield, these almost certainly came from Boeing Surplus” and I decided I’d use that on them instead of bluing them like usual so I got them clean enough for that and took them outside to spray for a moment and brought them in to wipe down
and that’s when the absolute wave of old nicotine scent slammed me in the face
(I think as the new boeshield reliquified the old)
and it vaped off away real quick which was nice but I’m like HOW MUCH CAN ONE SHOP WORKER SMOKE?! and the answer is “a _lot_, apparently.”
they’re nice and clean and smooth and such now but that was a real _whoof_ xD

Hello! Does anyone have any recommendations for pixelfed instances? I need an instance that has a curated sign-up, and is okay with minors (somewhere around 14+) and kinda gimmicky accounts (aka, I plan to post my collection of trashcans). Russian/English/all languages.

i just made this account to make sure i get my username or whatever. i dont plan on using this place literally at all unless something happens to tumblr.
also "woot" is a stupid word in my opinion just say post. just call them reposts. i get you wanna be cute and quirky and unique but its just stupid sounding. my other idea is call them "nips" and "renips" because of what the name of the platform means.
also if i had to choose between bluesky/mastodon integration and being able to interact with a post multiple times i'd take the later any day of the week. this will never truly feel like tumblr until you do that, that's pivotal to the feel of tumblr.

Small language note from my Legend of Zang Hai watch: at one point there's a small joke/riposte over the name Zhinu because why would you name your kid with Nu which stands for 'slave', but apparently it also means young child.
Reading elsewhere this isn't just a fictional point but an actual mandarin bit, so that's cool that's 20 seconds of dialogue that just encapsulated a key point of grief between Malay and Indonesian speakers lmao (in Malay budak is very straightforwardly a child; in Indonesian that's a foot servant or slave more than the other meaning. But no Malay speaker who's not used to Indonesian would even guess the word they'd actually use, which is bocil)
