If you don't have a lot of time to spare I would point you toward "An Ode to People" and "Kiss the Cook", each of which can be read in just a few minutes.
I haven't cast my vote yet but I'm leaning towards Jake Spooky. While I normally don't care for animation or sound in my webcomics, this one is pulling them off pretty well.
