Wer oder WAS ist die IFCN ?

Verpflichtung zu klar definierten Qualitätsstandards

Um in das Netzwerk aufgenommen zu werden, müssen die Mitglieder anhand von 31 Kriterien darlegen, dass sie ein hohes Maß an Glaubwürdigkeit gewährleisten. Mit dem "Code of Principles" verpflichten sich die Mitglieder unter anderem zu Überparteilichkeit sowie offenen und ehrlichen Korrekturen. Außerdem müssen Recherche-Quellen dargelegt und die Finanzierung des Formats transparent gemacht werden.

Was unterscheidet politische Faktenchecks von journalistischen Faktenchecks?
Da auch Journalisten und Medien den Begriff so verwenden können, wie sie möchten, gibt es keine Qualitätskontrolle. Auch journalistische Inhalte, die sich "Faktencheck" nennen, müssen sich theoretisch an keine Vorgaben halten.
Für die in diesem #Faktenfuchs vorgestellten Unterschiede werden deswegen die Prinzipien des International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) als Maßstab verwendet. Das IFCN ist ein weltweiter Zusammenschluss von Faktencheckern, als IFCN-Mitglied muss man bestimmte Standards und Qualitätskriterien erfüllen. Auch der #Faktenfuchs ist Mitglied im IFCN.
