Furious with myself for only just realising that the “If Books Could Kill” episode about “Who Moved My Cheese?” should have had the tagline (and whispered Peter interjections) of “Miceonomics”

In which the “If Books Could Kill” podcast rips apart the #book “Sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari:

“Like everything he fucking writes it has the aesthetics of intelligence”
Holy heck that’s the meanest thing I’ve ever heard Michael Hobbes say

Such a sigh of relief when I started the new #IfBooksCouldKill

As a former Kansan geographically, I’m 😬 to learn that What’s the Matter With Kansas? is on the #IfBooksCouldKill radar
Be gentle, Peter and Michael, don’t break my sunflower state heart

Let’s see how much of this I can stand!

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiii doubt I’ll have the stomach to listen to this before the election is resolved, but I’m glad they’re covering this subject. It just makes me want to claw my skin off is all.

"you know how like when a pendulum swings too far?"
Ma'am, that's not at all how pendulums work.
She'd know that if she paid attention when she did her kids' science projects.

An opportune time, it seems, to share last year’s superb #IBCK episode about #HillbillyElegy. Sigh.

The current @TheWarOnCars episode could have been a great crossover with #IfBooksCouldKill. I guess that Vehicular Cycling indeed had fatal consequences due to infrastructure that was hindered by it.

Part Two of the If Books Could Kill podcast on Pinker's book The Better Angels Of Our Nature has been released:

Oh goodie, Michael Hobbes ripping into Pinker and his pinkerwashing book The Better Angels of our Nature.

For over a decade (!) the text message alert on my phone has been Michael Palin saying "what a strange person" from the film The Holy Grail.
In the spirit of trying to be more positive in general, I will change the text alert to Peter Shamshiri exclaiming "oh hell yeah" to whenever Michael Hobbes drops an outrageous quote block on the #IfBooksCouldKill podcast.

I have a masters degree in environmental policy and Paul Ehrlich‘s book was recommended / talked about as if it was factual back in the 90s. However, it’s:
- eugenic & racist
- written by people with no experience, let alone expertise, in the field
- filled with predictions that are verifiably untrue.

Funny how the idiot who wrote this book never bothered looking up the definition of fascism, or more likely ignored it because #Fascism is definitionally a right wing ideology and lies are part of the standard operating procedure of these assholes. #IfBooksCouldKill #Podcasts #Politics

Was on a car trip recently and had control of the entertainment, and if you think I didn't have us listen to 5 hours of #IfBooksCouldKill you clearly don't know me.

The members only episode of #IfBooksCouldKill was so good today. Deep dive on the conservative backlash against corporate pride and the LGBT community generally. I recommend signing up for the Patreon but they released a teaser in the free #podcast feed too: https://pca.st/episode/8d6cd7f0-ea3b-4345-8fb0-6bcb4807ddd1

Favorite Michael Hobbes quote (so far) from this week’s #IfBooksCouldKill podcast —
“Maybe his love language is reactionary boilerplate”
