🛬 Landed in Montreal about 23 hours after I got in a taxi from the hotel in Bangkok. It was an excellent week at #IETF122 but now I am so looking forward to being reunited with my family back in Vermont.
All that remains is retrieving luggage.. and then the 2 hour drive home.

The #IETF122 hackathon starts in a few hours. I will be joining remotely, work on #EDHOC on @ariel (let's see if its out-of-the-box support also interoperates out-of-the-box), and play with #embeddfriendly URIs expressed in #CBOR.

HEL-BKK for #ietf122. I guess it should become slightly warmer on the other side….

Beginning most of 24 hours travel from Montreal to Bangkok for the 122nd meeting on the Internet Engineering Task Force, #IETF122. First a 14.5 hour flight to Delhi on Air Canada, then a 4-hour layover.. and then a 4-hour flight to Bangkok. It turns out to take a long time to get to the other side of the world! 🙂
Looking forward to attending an #IETF meeting in-person for the first time since before the pandemic! (I have attended remotely a few times since.)

We're pleased to announce that the Applied Networking Research Prize awards for #IETF122 will go to:
Changjie Wang for his work on the use of large-language models to support network configuration ("NetConfEval: Can LLMs Facilitate Network Configuration”, ACM CoNEXT 2024, https://doi.org/10.1145/3656296)
Henry Birge-Lee for his work on secure collaborative path control in BGP (“TANGO: Secure Collaborative Route Control across the Public Internet”, USENIX NSDI 2024, https://www.usenix.org/conference/nsdi24/presentation/birge-lee)
The presentations and award talks will take place during the IRTF Open Meeting at IETF 122 in Bangkok in March 2025. A live stream will be available for those unable to attend in person.
The Applied Networking Research Prize recognises the best recent results in applied networking research, interesting new research ideas of potential relevance to the Internet standards community, and people who are likely to have an impact on Internet standards and technologies in the future.
The ANRP is supported by the Internet Society and the IRTF, and sponsored by Comcast and NBC Universal.
