  13. The Applied Networking Research Prize awards for #IETF117 will go to:

    Simon Scherrer for his work on modelling the BBR congestion control algorithm (“Model-Based Insights on the Performance, Fairness, and Stability of BBR", ACM IMC 2022); and

    Siva Kesava Reddy Kakarla for his work on verifying the correctness of nameservers ("SCALE: Automatically Finding RFC Compliance Bugs in DNS Nameservers", NSDI 2022)

    Look out for their award talks during the IRTF Open Meeting at IETF 117 in San Francisco, from 13:00-15:00 Pacific on Thursday 27th July, and online.

  17. With approaching, time to update some existing work and propose new drafts.

    Tim is working on updating RFC 8416 (SLURM) with support for ASPA in (github.com/NLnetLabs/draft-sid). Philip continues his work on control options for client proxies (github.com/NLnetLabs/draft-hom), and Willem contributes to DNS out-of-protocol signalling (datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft).

  18. A new working group will meeting during the #IETF117 meeting 22-28 July 2023 to document the BPF ecosystem and extensions. Read more about this technology increasingly being used beyond Linux. ietf.org/blog/bpf/
