  3. I skipped the social event and managed to get some time at a great skatepark in Yokohama while at #IETF116. As I near very, very close to 50 years old I find that I really care a lot about still being able to roll on a wooden toy, but that it becomes increasingly harder on a body that has been beat up for the majority of time in its existence. Still, this was an incredible skatepark, even if I can't skate it like I could when I was 19.

    Starting at 09:30 JST, the Crypto Forum Research Group has a discussion on Guidelines for writing cryptography specifications plus updates on key blinding for signature schemes, RSA Blind Signatures with Public Metadata, VDAFs, and more datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/1

    Also at 09:30, the Human Rights Protocol Considerations group has talks by Micah Lee on "Hack Leaks and revelations" and by Leah Rosenbloom on "Cryptography for grassroots organizing", plus new work on Intimate Partner Violence Digital Considerations datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/1

  14. Making the entanglement is itself distributed quantum computation. Every node has to participate. The quantum Internet will be more circuit than datagram.

    [Funny note: when you create entanglements, you need to create a lot of them since using them - in a quantum computation - destroys them.]

    Routing will be fun, you have to take into account if the link is "good" or "bad" (noisy).

    Also at 09:30, is the Global Access to the Internet for All (GAIA) RG with work on mapping fibre infrastructure, IXPs, and collective risk reduction datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/1

    Finally today, at 13:00 JST, is the first meeting of the new Research and Analysis of Standard-Setting Processes Proposed RG. This aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, policy makers, standards users, and standards developers to study standardisation processes across SDOs - talks will focus on ethnographic studies of IETF and tools for collating data about IETF datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/1

    As usual, recordings will be on the IETF channel on YouTube for those that cannot attend in person.
