I haven't followed every last detail of this, but I do think that there should be moves to give idols a more secure standing in the workplace; having them classified as employees seems like the way to go, although that would probably cause upheaval in the industry.
On the other hand, i don't think New Jeans and the adults close to them have been all that wise from a tactical or self-interested view.
As you suggest, it will all end in tears.
