Thanks to @ct_Magazin, I have just learnt about #IdleGames although I assume that Forest for Android is one, and I have played that before. Doing some more research, I came across #VirtualCottage and think this is worth a try on my #Linux desktop computer. It's often challenging to find Linux-compatible #games, so I am excited to have discovered this one.

there's an idle game festival going on #Steam right now and i've found myself sticking to a rule that has made my life a lot easier:

if an idle game has in app purchases, i avoid it. i don't trust game developers who make their game free without an option to just purchase the game outright and disable ads or something similar because it means they don't respect me as a consumer. i would happily pay for a lot of idle games up front but won't play a free to play game that constantly nags you to spend money on it. it isn't a healthy relationship between you and the software, it's just "give me money to make this built in inconvenience go away" half the time. so i don't even bother anymore.

Every now and again I like playing an idle game to get the good chemicals without having to give up attention to the other things in life.

As of late it's been Fantasy Map Simulator. A fantastic way for me to get my 4x fix without spending 4x time. Mildly recommend for you to put on the background so you can watch/manipulate empires into rising a falling. Also make your own maps and things.

Is there an idle MMO that is actually multiplayer? Where your actions affect other players/the world? For example, I can imagine something like if you choose to level up healing, then people on the same server (if there are servers) would heal (insert formula) HP.
