Iden).

  2. 🚀Google's IDE history is basically a never-ending quest to make #coding as thrilling as watching paint dry. 🎨 Who knew "strict tooling" could be so exhilarating? 🙄 If you thought #IDEs were boring, wait till you read this!

  6. "Wow, Tracy Miranda graces us with the groundbreaking news that #Swift can now be written in even more #IDEs nobody cares about! 🎉✨ Because who doesn't dream of coding with Google's mystical Antigravity IDE? 🧙‍♂️ Swift isn't just in Xcode, Neovim, and Emacs, it's apparently collecting dust in the corners of every IDE in the universe. 🙄"

  23. I'm trying out #CommonLisp plugins for various #IDEs and striking out each time. Am I really stuck with Emacs or Lem? I haven't done much lisp in the last 10 years, and I can hardly remember what I used before. I'm not certain, but I think I just used Vim and ran a REPL in a shell and would just run a command from the REPL to reload a file. I think I used Slimv for awhile, too, but I remember it being very buggy. Any Common Lispers out there that use something other than Emacs/Lem?

  27. [2009] When does technology pass from being a tool to being a crutch?

On the fear of ‘systemic deskilling’… turns out 2009 programmers were worried about #IDEs and the distinction between cognitive process and naive tool use when programming 😏 No one even imagined that programmers would want to use tools that generate code that looks right but fundamentally isn’t. And yet, here we are.
